CORONADO WOMAN’S CLUB COROSCOPE - February 2011

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Calling all you artists, writers, crafters and photographers.   This month  we get ready for the “Festival of Arts” put on by our Southern District.  I hope that some of you have some examples of your own handiwork to display… first, at our meeting on February and then, at the Festival on Feb. 23.  Attached is a list of categories that are available.  Please attach an index card with your name, Club, address and the Category. ( Knitting, crochet, oil painting, water color, holiday crafts, quilts, other sewing, and photography )  We will all enjoy looking over the artwork and possibly even hearing from a writer or two.  We’ll have our own Art Festival at the February meeting.  Tickets for the Arts luncheon in La Mesa on Feb. 23 will be on sale .  I hope we can fill our table of 10.

Our meeting is February 2 and will be $25 for luncheon. Mail or drop off your check to Diana at 908 D Avenue or call her at 537-0009 by the deadline of  Jan. 30.   See you there!   Betsy

LET’S CELEBRATE THE ARTISTS IN THE CORONADO WOMAN’S CLUB!

FEBRUARY 2011

In February the GFWC celebrates the arts at the February 23 San Diego Southern District “Festival of the Arts”.  All local members are encouraged in their own clubs to share their skills and hobbies with their clubs, and then to select some of these to display at the Festival.  Winners of certain categories can even be sent on to the State level to compete at the California Federation of Woman’s Clubs Convention in April.

But let’s just think local and celebrate the talent we have in our own club as we have our own little Art Festival at the February meeting.  I know some of you enjoy creating art works in the following fields.  We would love to see a sample or two displayed for our club.  Elizabeth Lenardi, Betsy Vernetti
