PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Spring is here at last! With all the March and April showers this should be a beautiful season and a glorious Flower Show.
Our District 26 will be celebrating the 2009-2010 club year by the annual District Convention on April 17. Unfortunately it conflicts with the Coronado Flower Show. I hope we can have a small delegation to represent our club. I will be travelling at that time so I will be trying to find a replacement. The “Southern Spotlight” district newsletter had a nice feature on me and our club…very flattering.
APRIL MEETING CHANGED TO SECOND WEDNESDAY
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT***The April Meeting will be the second Wednesday, April 14, due to a big golf tournament and lunch on our regular day. Be sure to mark your calendars for the date 3/14!!! Our speaker will be Captain Lindsay, new Commanding Officer of North Island NAS. He is visiting community organizations and getting acquainted. Send your check for $22.50 to Helen Alexander, 1520 Maria Place by April 9.
JUNIORS CELEBRATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
Congratulations to our Junior Woman’s Club for their wonderful Anniversary Brunch and reunion on March 6. Five of the original board members were present as well as many, many past members.
The biggest surprise was the dedication of a Scholarship which will be presented in honor of our Marilyn Foster and her years of service to both of our clubs. Daughter Amy popped in to surprise Mom and give everyone some wonderful background on Marilyn. Kudos to the organizers of this impressive event.
