Coroscope May 2019

President’s Message: Welcome to the Edge of Summer! Here I am trying to enjoy the Spring Flowers and keep up with life – friends, paperwork, and my dirty dishes. It seems like 2019 is just going to disappear. BUT, there is something magic about saying “2020.” So this May, be sure to Reflect. A friend of mine would say, “Girl, it’s a piece of cake.” First – just REDUCE: clean house and share with Rachel’s Night Shelter, and Shred Papers on June 29th. REPORT: Keep in touch with friends and come to Club events. You do make a difference! RENEW: Just take a breather – at least once a week. Smile and make a new friend. Then – be sure you bring her to the Coronado Woman’s Club. – Pearl

Donations for Rachel’s House: Donations for Rachel’s House may be dropped off at June Cangolosi’s home at 949 F Ave, and she will take them with her when serving dinner there on May 21. June’s phone: (619) 537-0017. They could use new or gently used clothing, toiletries, small housewares such as coffee pot, toaster/oven, pots and pans, sanitary napkins, depends, toiletries, jewelry, sheets, and towels. They are getting new twin sized beds and could use sheets for those. (They cannot take furniture – no room to store.)

Next Meeting: Our next meeting/luncheon will be at The Brigantine on Wednesday, June 5. Please send your check to the club by May 28. Please note that that the newly elected Board will be installed at that meeting. Note: If someone is willing to step forward to serve as Club president or 3rd vice president, please let Francis Rogers know or offer your name from the floor before the installation. Pearl has served as president for two years and technically should term out, but cannot do so if no one is willing to step in. Pat Cooley has also termed out as 3rd vice president. Other Board members are willing to help you, so please do consider serving our Club in one of these two ways. (Reservations and check for $25 should be sent by May 25 to Coronado Woman’s Club, PO Box 180535, Coronado, CA 92178-0535.)
